Prestige Wrestling’s ‘Perseverance’ show took place on Saturday night with the main event of Malakai Black vs. Kidd Bandit. After the game, he spoke about his future.

It was previously reported that Black had been given a parole from All Elite Wrestling.

“Wow, a thread [attached to the microphone]. This is truly an indie show. I’m kidding, I love it here. Look, really, I understand you all have questions. What am I doing? Where am I going? Look… seriously, understand that I will answer most of these questions in due course. However, for the past 22 years of my life, I have never stepped back and recalibrated my life and seized the opportunity to look back on all the things I’ve done in the ring, as well as the things I went through outside the ring. I’ve never done that because I’ve always had this attitude like, you know when they give these horses flaps on the sides of their heads where they can’t see the sides? Blinders, here we go. I am Dutch. I don’t know the word for that as well as my English is guys [Black laughed]. Look, I’ve done that my entire professional career because I had that one attitude to wrestling, which is that you have to think globally, not locally, because if you think locally, you get stuck in one place, right? So that goes for everything by the way. If you want to expand, don’t worry about the little things. You have to focus on the goal and as cliché as that sounds, it got me here in the States. So for the 22 years I’ve given my absolute everything to you who more than deserve it. Let me say that, you were all fantastic. Allow me to take a few weeks, maybe a few months to recalibrate myself, put everything in perspective. I promise you this isn’t goodbye. This is just that we’ll see each other soon… and as I embark on this illustrious mission of mine to rediscover myself in a way that I enjoy life again, I know that the independent scene and the wrestling scene in general be in good hands because of talents like this young lady here [Kidd Bandit]. Kidd, I don’t know what you’re made of, but I just hit you with the hardest blows I’ve ever given, you’re still standing – well I mean, you lie down, but you get the point. Your eyes are still open so it doesn’t matter who you are. You are a professional athlete in my book and I thank you for this competition.”
