Johnny Gargano appeared on WWE – Die Woche to discuss a wide variety of topics.
During it, Gargano looked back at working on his first match since last December on this week’s episode of WWE Raw, when he defeated Chad Gable. Gargano had many positive things to say about his opponent.
“I’m in a lot of pain” [after returning to the ring on Raw]. I just spent all morning with a massage gun on my left shoulder and back because again and I can’t stress this enough, I went from literally doing nothing. Sure, I was training and I was in the ring at the Performance Center for the past three weeks, but for the first time on TV you saw me do my javelin, you saw me do my DDT, one of the moves… I hadn’t I haven’t done that in nine months. So what you saw on Raw was the first time I did one of those moves in nine months. So I’m still in my head and of course I’m a perfectionist so there’s still some ring rust I need to knock off, still some stuff I need to get back into shape as far as that goes. I felt great. It obviously felt good to be back, to hear the crowd again, to be myself again, it felt great. But it’s a great first step, but the work is far from done and I’m far from done with the product and I really believe that things will get better and better every time.
Chad Gable is great. Chad Gable is one of the most underrated talents in the world and I will say that for sure. Chad Gable is such a talent, so underrated and I think the world of him is fair.”
