Karl Anderson spoke to Sports Illustrated for a new interview in which he spoke about a wide variety of topics. Here are the highlights:

Ability to appear in WWE:

“Like you said, never say never. We have made a verbal agreement with New Japan Pro-Wrestling for a longer period. But there is such a built-in story with Bullet Club, and we were never able to finish the story [in WWE] with AJ Styles or even Finn. A lot of things have happened in the company, so you can never say never. Anytime we can work with brothers like AJ and Finn, we’ll always listen to that.”

His NEVER Openweight title win over Tama Tanga at NJPW Dominion:

“That match with Tama meant a lot. We’ve been traveling together for so long. You hear this a lot, but it’s not a cliché: people become like family in this company. We’ve spent so much time on the road together. Tama is no friend to me; he’s more like a brother. When Gallows and I decided to return to Japan, we made it a point to do some other things. We wanted to do something people didn’t expect. And the decision was made to attack Tama in Fukuoka and enter a program with him. And it’s really cool to see how good Tama has become. He actually started in the company in 2009, having only had a handful of matches when he came to New Japan as a young boy. I saw him go from a man of great looks and potential to someone who has come into his own. He’s really damn good now. Anytime you can play a big game with a brother of yours, there’s nothing f**king cooler.”
