Mandy Rose appeared on Out of character with Ryan Satin to discuss a wide range of topics.
During the match, the WWE NXT Women’s Champion reflected on being sent off the main squad to NXT in July 2021.
“I didn’t even know why I went to NXT. At the end of the day, I firmly believe, I saw it as an opportunity as a new way to rename myself. I think we all need to change as we develop and grow. I think for me it was just a huge opportunity to use this as something that could be really cool. I haven’t looked at any of the negatives. I think that was a big part for me. I think a lot of people, if they got the call to go back to NXT, would ask a million questions. They would say, why, and of course it’s normal. But I literally took that call and said, “Okay, sure.” I didn’t really ask many questions.”
“Then I had this vision and obviously other things started happening. I’m like, you know, what? I’m going to change my character a little bit. I want to get a little sharper. It’s all about, you know, can you support it in the ring? I always have that stigma on me, so I’m going to change it up a bit. Then I had this vision and with a group of people we brought it to life. So I think it was honestly the best move for me. I am super grateful. I just think having a positive attitude went into it was the best aspect for me because it showed too. if I had a negative mindset, and if I came out and looked like I didn’t want to be here, it would just show and it wouldn’t work. So I just stayed very positive and I’m really glad I did.”
